Kenneth A. Conrad, M.D.
Kenneth Conrad, MD, is a board certified physician (Internal Medicine and Clinical Pharmacology) with academic experience at the University of Arizona where he was Assistant and Associate Professor of Medicine and Pharmacology. He has had extensive pharmaceutical industry experience at Wyeth-Ayerst Research, Gensia Pharmaceutical, Metabasis Pharmaceuticals and at a clinical research organization (Omnicare) with positions from Senior Director to Vice President.
Dr. Conrad has served as an Investigator for many industry-sponsored clinical trials while he was at the University of Arizona. In addition to serving as a consultant for SPCI, he is a principal with Conrad Pharmaceutical Consultants, a firm that provides scientific and clinical services for the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device industries.
Dr. Conrad has had therapeutic area experience in cardiology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, genitourinary, infectious disease, neuropsychiatry, oncology, pulmonology, and rheumatology/immunology. He has prepared clinical documents for INDs and NDAs, has planned and supervised clinical trials for Phases 1-4, has served as medical monitor for studies in multiple clinical areas, has served as a member and chairman of several drug safety and monitoring boards, and has provided adverse event reporting services for investigational and marketed drugs.
Dr. Conrad received a BS in biology from Albright College and an MD from the University of Pennsylvania. He completed an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Kansas and a fellowship in clinical pharmacology at the University of Colorado.
